Both the Daily Mail and the BBC have a comment pieces up on the sentencing of Lindsay Sandiford in Bali after she was found guilty of smuggling 4.8 kg of heroin in the lining of her suitcase.

Should the Foreign Office interfer in the judgement made by the Indonesian court? The penalties for drug smuggling in Indonesia are very clear (as they are in other countries as well).

Can we have a Guardian article please?

  As a member of Amnesty International's Urgent Action Group for more than two decades now, I believe it is the duty of every government to intervene against the death penalty, no matter which country is imposing it, no matter what the nationality or crime of the person convicted.

  @BeautifulBurnout - Thanks for that BB I have mixed feelings about the situation - having seen first hand how the misuse of Class A drugs can ruin lives. Yet being shot by firing squad is barbaric.

  It's good to hear other people's opinions.
