buckwheat fireweed honey

Dark in color, it has its own way of being sweet
and complex at the same time

great for glazing, BBQ grilling, meat & fish smoking
a strong taste and pungent spicy aroma
full bodied and rich in iron

goes well with strong black coffee

it is made by mad hornets the strongest
stinging insect that lives

inside a football with hexagonal cells
eating slivers of wood

Adult hornets feed off nectar and sugar-rich plant foods.
Often seen on the sap of oak trees, rotting sweet
fruits, honey Hornets frequently fly into
orchards to feast on over-ripe fruit. Hornets
tend to gnaw a hole into fruit to be totally
immersed in its meat

The adults prey on various large or dangerous insects
such as locusts without difficulty  The victim
is fully masticated and then fed down
in the form of slurry to the larvae developing in the nest

they leave their buzz on the honey giving it a cola like caustic fizz
that is kind of a bit abrasive and sandpapery rather like nuzzling stubble

extremely high in protein
some of the varieties have hallucinogenic and healing
properties akin to blue corn syrup

that spring goes very deep
and all sorts of catacombs down there
