The color fuchsia was first introduced as the color of a new aniline dye called fuchsine, patented in 1859 by the French chemist Francois-Emmanuel Verguin. Its name was changed the same year to magenta, after an historic battle near the Italian city of that name

oh yes that reminds me ... this plain food business 

goes back to the relationship with Ravioli 

his family had very plain food on the table 

piles of grated carrot and mushrooms plain bisteka 

fried in olive oil n mountains of stretchy rubbery crusty bread 

to mop up the salad oil ... 

n the idea was we have plain food at home 

and treat ourselves when we are out 

n i must have got a taste for it 

n one night we sat up late drinking whiskey 

and burning rizzlas at the kitchen table crying our eyes out ... 

n he would pull his t shirt over his head 

embarrassed by his tears
