The government is unwilling to listen to the ordinary ,an and woman to find out their grievances or what they want. All powerful military governor and the military leader for the North Mr Hathurisinghe decide what the people want and use the Sinhalese speaking army to control the population. The so called economic development of buiding hotels, banks and main roads do not make an average man happy because his needs are thye basic. People hate military inteference in every aspect of their lives.
There are gun carrying soldiers everywhere, yet, attack on journalists, rights defenders, single women and men continue, the army and police protect the purpetrators of these crimes instead of enforcing law and order.
When there is no evidence of any terrorist activity keeping heavy presence of army upsets the masses to say the least. Commonwealth monitors, UN HRC Chief and local CaFFE complained about how the army harass people. The people have voted TNA to show their dislike of what the mlitary do.
