Probably not in coffee shops in the 1980s but perhaps the equivalent.
Disclaimer - I despise all cola-like and most fizzy drinks (red lemonade in Cork is OK as is US mountain dew) so have no idea which of classic & new coke was better tasting (less repulsive to me).
