The sooner that the Red states secede and form Jesusland, the happier everyone will be. They can withdraw to the 1700s, while the rest of the world can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that science ignorance, climate change denial, female discrimination and religious hate mongering are back where they belong - in the middle of nowhere. 
Once the people of these tub thumping states stop getting the huge state handouts they pretend to despise, they may even be open to actual thought.
