I have to say our political class certainly know how to lie and manipulate. We are in 2012, almost 2013, and after these years of financial crisis, the British public want to prattle on about the EU. I wonder why. Who sets these agendas?

Shouldn't we be thinking about the still seeming inability of our political class to deal with housing other than to force our poorest men and women under the age of 35 into bedsits and hostels and bed and breakfasts? Or do Britons think that is ok? The old 'well we can't all afford to live in houses we work for that' routine doesn't work because that includes people who work. Sure the council tax bills for them will help too.
Isn't there something malign in our culture that actually chooses to focus on the other and deny what affects the vast majority of us? Why would we be giving a shit about the EU when the last 6 years have exposed at various turns the sordid corruption in the heart of our society and economy? Why do we consider our poor an issue when we see our media in concert with a political class lying to each of us about the realities we all face?
Why is it that we do not focus fully on what takes place within? Why don't we focus more on the extortion and fraud in our financial sector? Why don't we focus more on the tax issues? Why does our political class show such inaction there yet are so free to hammer our poor?
This is a disgrace and our future generations will hold that behaviour as they did the behaviour towards any ethnic group or any kind of 'other'. Hang your heads in shame if you sit silent.
