the harpies are not welcome
my brother and i shared our friends and dated them , wed share homes too so there was quite a jamming scene going on in the squats and council flats we inhabited , him on guitar , i had a chello , we had bongo drums and everybody sang and took drugs
there was alot of marijuana about and occasionally lsd and mushrooms but i was never offered heroin, speed or coke
and nothing compared to coming off them with my straight edge boyfriend ! and the ensuing awakening , the surge of energy up the spine , deepening perception of colours and sounds , and a flash of lightening , similar but much more intense than an acid trip
it only lasted about a minute i think
not sure if it was the adrenalin from our fights . When we were not fighting we'd be running through the streets laughing , playing music and madly in love . There was nobody else , no game playing with other lovers , just each other
one Christmas i bought Queens final album and made a whole food lunch from a book called how to feed your family on £5 a day . A glorious relationship with operatic emotions
that day we carried candles through the streets wishing strangers a happy Christmas . the world wasnt ready for us
I had that awakening also at 5 years old looking at my dad's lobster baskets and in the squat , but that last one , I've not had it since I've been too disturbed
We begged for help including trying to admit ourselves but we're told we're not ill enough
another feature of that era was having drug dealers banging on the door . not sure why they were at Simons as we were not taking any drugs. we escaped through a window up a fire stair case and onto a neighbours balcony where we asked the bewildered Greek family to pray for us
