Both sides and their supporters claim the moral high ground. What to do?
Put it to the test. Hold a referendum in all of Israel/Palestine. Ask the people on each side whether they have the moral high-ground or not. There are big prizes in this referendum, a new twist!
The side that believe they have the highest moral ground will then be transported across the world, no expense spared, to live a peaceful and happy life safe and secure in their new country, built out of the international pocket. A chunk of Australia might do. It is big and there are large parts of it going spare where the climate is similar to back home.
This novel solution might work because everybody gets something. The people who decided they had the highest morals get to show the world they how stupendously high their moral ground is AND they get a new country.
The people who decided that they were not as entitled as the others to the country would actually get to keep the land and feel really good about it but the whole world would know that they didn't really feel like they deserved it. The side in Australia would gain yet more righteous altitude so another win for them far, far away.
After a while everyone agrees that all the unpleasantness is just water under the bridge and get on a lot better and eventually anybody who feels like living in Jerusalem does and we all live happily ever after.
Just a bit of bluesky thinking.
