No apology necessary. I'm not offended in the least. I just really want to make it crystal clear to anyone who may entertain this canard that it is indeed a canard. Actually, I think for many of those who propose it, they do so from a genuine conviction that in extremis we all wish for a "higher power" to intervene. What I found was that I remained convinced I would be OK because I had the right training, tools, resources and attitude. It was a purely rational assessment. That does not mean that I was not aware of a fear reaction. But, as the saying goes, fear is the mind-killer...you have to let it pass through you. A big part of a successful outcome in such situations is focussing on next steps - and you don't have time for much else if you're doing your job properly.
