Hadley Freeman would have written a much more amusing piece on that irrelevant phenomenon.
Well I'd still like to see someone other than Burchill write about why certain female pop stars who are rumoured to be gay seem so reluctant to discuss it. Katie Melua being a case in point.

There is at least one other who definitely has a girlfriend who has issued a combination of outright denials and smoke and mirrors type statements.

"It is great that the olympic opening ceremonies have expressed dissent against the values of a government controlled by corporate powers." How on earth did you manage to read that into either opening ceremony?
Olympic ceremony: Children's bed dance, celebrating Great Ormand Street Hospital and the NHS. (The coalition government is trying to destroy universal heath care.)
Paralympic ceremony: Apart from the whole nature of the Paralympics itself (the government is pandering to a bigoted view of the disabled as scroungers), the celebration of the Enlightenment, not the Industrial Revolution, as a historical period that the British ought to be especially proud of. The Enlightenment was a period of intense creativity and questioning of authority, as education began to reach out to a much wider audience than before. (The government has been narrowing access to education by tripling university fees. The government bases its values on financial profit motives. Opposition to corporate interests, especially as regards scientific hypotheses, can lead to injunctions and libel suits.)

well come on then Enders you big beefy bouncer ... lets see some action then cus you aint having that footage of my cunt
