To show that they have a lot of money. Some of the women interviewed in the piece said as much. One of them said she was "proud" to be able to afford £900. So, if you're poor -- or can think of something better to do with your money -- you ought to be "ashamed"?
Victoria Beckham's joke about her hair, from Russian prisoners, is pretty crass.
What a pity you can't buy brain extensions.

Now then - don't go putting your labels on me again - I think we had that discussion a while back. And if anyone is being classist - if there is such a word - your presumption that all trouble makers on late night buses are working class and anyone happening to wear a suit, tie and Burberry style mac isn't I think would maybe put you in that frame. I have nothing against people of different classes simply the class system itself and anyone who is willing to continue it on, directly or indirectly whichever section of it they may happen to find themselves in. And again - who is to say or even know what I admire in a James Bond film if I do in fact admire them at all - maybe I can see within those films the opposite of what you do - and as Mr Bond in the final clip himself says - "Shaken or stirred - do I look like someone who cares".
And thank you for your story - a personal anecdote is always appreciated to brighten what could be an otherwise droll political exchange - and brings to mind the great Oscar Wilde himself (hoping I am allowed to appreciate his works).....
"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
You and be both hopefully - of whatever political persuasion or even class, we may be.
Surelu anyone who does not appreciate Oscar Wilde must have something seriously wrong with him !
