Universal childcare would make life so much easier for working families. Why not get the people who organise universal education for children to organise pre school care, they have the systems to do it.
If pensioners got a few less benefits, that would be countered by the fact that they were no longer being used as unpaid child minders which is the experience of many if childcare is absent or unaffordable.
