word jam : playing hard ball

240819

playing hard ball

disturbance of the peace
on the Irish border

sorry its because of Brexit

maybe it feels safe
to be in a dark place
at rock bottom
which nobody can take away

this cocoon,
this womb of darkness
looking at the damp walls
of my cave
in the barely dim light

depends what you see
when you look at the moon
when you're bathed in its light

you might fall in love with someone
who is young, cheeky and married
rude and who thinks you're fat and ugly

its the unavailability that draws me in

adrenalin, drama, mystery

what you have there is a toddler
who is about 6 foot 2, well built,
who has endured 40 years of neglect
and with all the attendant demands of a toddler

he's going to kick hard against the boundaries
so what am i supposed to do
wear a bin liner ?

i had no fight left in me

let  sleep overcome your mind

actually how many times
has it really gone well
actually face to face

well now i remember
when finishing wasnt the goal
n it was all journey
